Local Leaders to Endorse Guardia at Campaign Kick-Off

Anthony Guardia, Democratic candidate for 9th Essex District State Representative, will kick off his campaign on Friday, February 26th with support from local leaders. The event will be held at the Saugus Knights of Columbus, located at 57 Appleton St, from 6-9pm and will feature endorsements by Paul Dinocco, Sean Grant, Wallace McKenzie, and David Surface.

“Anthony has the energy and idealism to bring significant change to the 9th Essex District,” says Dinocco, a Wakefield Selectman and IBEW Union member. “When problems are brought to his attention, he makes them his problems and reaches out to as many people as possible in finding a solution to them.”

Wallace McKenzie was the campaign manager and aide to former State Rep. Steve Angelo. Now, as a Lynnfield business leader and community activist, he admires Guardia’s leadership and service on the Wakefield School Committee. "Anthony is an effective leader, who, in his career and service to his community, has demonstrated the ability to work with all parties to solve issues in new and cost- effective ways. He has made hard decisions in a fair manner and wants to work to ensure that all communities in the state are treated the same." David Surface, a Lynn business leader, echoes these sentiments. “We need a strong voice standing up for the people of Lynn, Lynnfield, Saugus, and Wakefield. I know Anthony will be that voice.”

Sean Grant, long time Laborer’s Union member and former State Rep. candidate, knows what it takes to run a campaign of this caliber and sees Guardia as an ideal candidate. “As our cities and towns struggle during these difficult financial times, we need a representative who is actively involved in our communities, fighting for our needs. Anthony is that candidate.”

“I’m humbled to have the support of so many great people that I admire,” says Guardia. “With the diverse type of leadership coming together on this campaign, from business leaders to union members, Selectmen and School Committee members, I know that we can continue to find solutions to the most pressing local issues in the 9th Essex District.”
