Guardia Hosts Ice Cream Social at Senior Center
Last Thursday local seniors at the Saugus Senior Center were treated to an ice cream social courtesy of Anthony Guardia, democratic candidate for state representative. Guardia and his team of volunteers scooped ice cream and served homemade Italian cookies to the group of over 100 people in attendance.
“I’ve been visiting the Senior Center on a weekly basis, and I’ve been able to learn so much about the biggest concerns facing seniors in our district,” said Guardia. “They’ve helped me come up with ideas on how to address prescription drug costs and shared their concerns about having choices in where and how they live. I wanted to say thank you and do something fun with everyone I’ve become friends with here.”
Along with his visit to the Senior Center, Guardia recently sat down over coffee with residents at Laurel Towers to discuss concerns and problems they face, and is scheduled to visit residents at Heritage Heights later this week to do the same.
“Our seniors have given so much to our communities throughout the years, and we owe it to them to make sure they’re taken care of by addressing their concerns,” added Guardia. “When I’m state representative, I’ll make it a priority to ensure their lives are safer and easier.”
