ABOUT
Welcome to my website. I am running for State Representative for the 9th Essex District including the communities of Lynn, Lynnfield, Saugus and Wakefield. Please take a moment to learn about me, my family, my concerns and my ideas for our district.
I enjoy every minute that I serve on the Wakefield School Committee. Seeing the impact one person can make and creating and implementing new policies has been an experience I will never forget.
Sadly though, too many times I have watched my community divide over budget issues. With many of my decisions, I’m forced to vote for the lesser of two evils rather than voting for what is best.
Throughout all these difficult decisions there is one common denominator: if more was done for our communities we wouldn't be confronting such challenges. If there were simple and fair local aid funding formulas our communities would be able to reduce property taxes and increase quality of life. If there were fair capital funding formulas, our schools and other municipal projects would be updated properly. Finally, if we are creative in how we approach our most pressing issues, like job creation, affordable healthcare, quality education and protecting our environment, we can make our Commonwealth a leader for years to come.
Over the past few months I've spoken with many of you. In doing so I've learned that Lynn, Lynnfield, Saugus, and Wakefield are filled with exceptional individuals who are kind, talented, and ready to solve the problems we are confronting together. My hope is that this campaign will do just that: bring us closer together as we share our collective ideas and talents in common concern for our cities and towns.
As your state representative, I will be hands-on in your cities and towns. I won’t back down from challenges or tough decisions. I’ll be a tireless advocate for our most pressing local needs. I need your vote in September and then again in November so that I can do more for our communities.
Thank you and as always, I welcome your feedback and comments.
Respectfully Yours,
Anthony Guardia
